Pierre Poilievre kicked out of House of Commons for calling Trudeau 'wacko'

Pierre Poilievre has been kicked out of the House of Commons for calling Justin Trudeau a “wacko.”

The Tory leader was jousting with the prime minister over British Columbia’s drugs policy during Question Period when he was censured for unparliamentary language.

Poilievre asked: “When will we put an end to this wacko policy by this wacko prime minister?”

He was then asked numerous times by the speaker of the House, Greg Fergus, to withdraw the comment, but refused.

Poilievre attempted instead to have “wacko” replaced with “extremist” or “radical” for the official record.

But the speaker insisted upon a withdrawal, prompting Poilievre to say: “I simply withdraw and replace with the aforementioned adjective.”

Poilievre was then kicked out of the chamber for disobeying the authority of the speaker.

He soon after took to X to say that the "Liberal speaker" – Fergus was elected as a Liberal MP, but is supposed to perform his duties neutrally – had "censored" him.

"[Six] people dying from overdoses every day in BC is wacko," he added.

"Kids playing next to used syringes is wacko. Nurses worried about breastfeeding after breathing in toxic drug fumes is wacko. This is a wacko policy from a wacko PM that's destroying lives."
